Epiphany

The first Sunday in January is observed as the Feast of the Epiphany.  This feast is a celebration of the realization that Christ is the son of God!  We look to the Gospels of the story of the Magi coming from the East to worship this newborn baby as the Son of the Most High, and the story of the Baptism of Jesus where a voice from Heaven proclaims, “This is my Beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased”.

When we say “We have had an Epiphany”, we typically mean we have had such depth of insight, that it has changed our lives.  During this season, we are invited to reflect on the fact that Christ is truly the Son of God, and that because of this, our lives are changed.  We are then encouraged to go out to the world and manifest to others the love that God has for us.
