No School Tuesday, January 16

I trust our Christmas vacation provided time to share the joy of the Advent season with your family and
loved ones.

As we welcome back our students, we also recognize January signifies several important upcoming
milestones: semester one course finalization, Kindergarten registration and grade 9 registration to name
just a few. Watch for details in forthcoming communication from your schools.
I also want to again acknowledge the uncertainty looming on the horizon. The Saskatchewan Teachers'
Federation (STF) has announced that on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, there will be a provincewide strike by
all members of the STF. All Federation members will withdraw all professional and voluntary services for
the entire day.

This means the following for Tuesday, January 16, 2024:
• All HTCSD schools will be closed for students.
• HTCSD Transportation will be cancelled.
• All extra-curricular events will be cancelled.
• You do not need to report student absences.

I wish to assure you the safety of our students remains our top priority in our contingency planning. We
are fully committed to keeping you informed. You can expect timely and clear communication shared via
Edsby, our website, and email. Our goal is to ensure that you have the information you require when you
need it.

I recognize that such times can be unsettling. The Board and Senior Administration understand the
importance of the collective bargaining process, and our role to support students, families, and staff of all
our employee groups who make up the incredible HTCSD team. Our intent is to work openly and
collaboratively to find solutions during any times of disruption, and to make decisions aligned with a high quality Catholic education that is faith-based, student-centered, and results-oriented.

I encourage everyone to remain hopeful, considerate, and resilient. I again thank you for choosing and
giving your children the gift of a Catholic Education. All of us at Holy Trinity Catholic School Division wish
you a prosperous New Year.
