This class encouraged their fellow students to show they cared by bringing a bear. All donated teddy bears will be given to our local hospital and to the Children's hospital for children in need.

What does Catholic education mean to me?
Catholic education is a challenge to be Christ-like in word and action. The Christian Action Project encourages us to act on our faith and demonstrate the moral vision of the Gospel.

Lily Nelson Grade 7

What did student do?
Lily helps out with a Kindergarten student that has Down Syndrome. This started as her being Madison's Big Buddy and has turned into a beautiful friendship. Lily shows up early on Kindergarten days to get Madison off of the bus, she picks her up at recess & noon hour to play with her and picks her up at the end of the day to take her to the bus again. Lily is who Madison goes in search of if she leaves the classroom. I have overheard Lily saying how she is sad she is going to the high school next year as she won't be able to see Madison any longer. It is a beautiful thing when a child opens the heart of an older child and a friendship is born.

What does Catholic education mean to me?
When I first moved back to Shaunavon I came to Christ the King school so I could see my best friend and cousin. I'm so glad I made that decision as it has grown me closer to God and the Catholic Community. I had a hard year in Grade 3/4 as my mother had cancer. It made me feel hopeful as there were crosses near me and we prayed every morning. It was very healing. After all the pain Madison was brought to me. I thank God every day or that.
