Catholic education is important for our kids to learn the importance of religion in their lives. The values they will learn and gain through having enrolled to Catholic Education will help them grow as good individuals close to God.

 

Catholic Education is important to our family because we grew up in a Catholic atmosphere. We want our kids to have the knowledge that our school can give them aside from what we teach them at home.

We love that we get to come and learn about God, the Saints and how to live a faith filled life. We enjoy the faith retreats, going to mass, spending time with our friends and taking part in all of the fun activities that the staff plan for us.

 

We are celebrating the entire school as they all helped Bunny the cat to be able to get the surgery that he needs. The Fournier family rescued Bunny off the side of the highway this winter and he had a broken leg that he needs to have amputated. The students and staff at the school had a Jell-O sale and Candy Grams for Valentines day and the proceeds from this all went to Bunny and his surgery. God calls each of us to take care of all of his creations and this is what we did as a school.

I think my favourite thing about St. Agnes is mostly the teachers because they are all really nice. I really like the bus drivers because I feel like I can talk to them. The students here are all helpful to each other and I love to see people when they are happy.

 

Nathan received this award for being helpful with younger students getting on to the busses.

Grade 4/5 Class

 

We like our school because we get to learn more about God and Jesus. We enjoy times such as Catholic Education Week because it allows us to focus on helping others. Our school has nice teachers who plan lots of fun activities. I love coming to school and being able to be with my friends.

It means thinking of others. When we give to others, it’s like giving back to God. It gives us all hope. Our class was excited to raise money for our local Shaunavon food bank. We decided to donate $1 a day or one food item a day for the week of April 3-6th for the opportunity to wear a hat or pjs for the day. We created posters to advertise this event and encouraged all students in our school to participate to help those in need in our community. God wants us to help others and this is a way we could give back to our community.

Gr. 4-7 Christ the King Art Club

 

Christ the King Art Club spends Mondays after school with the Shaunavon Long Term Care Centre residents collaborating on a variety of art projects. Both the students and residents have formed very special relationships with one another while enjoying their passion for art.

 

The art club students are making connections to the many ways that sharing their gifts, talents, and passions for art are beautiful ways of serving God in the community.
